The April 13th-15th 2012 NHRA Drag Race event at Z Max Dragway in Charlotte, NC brought a new ET and MPH Record to the Stock Eliminator Class.  This is a special record as it is a new best ET and it was the first ever 8 second pass by a Stock Eliminator car.  Don's Cobra Jet has been a JDM Engineering Staple in the NHRA Stock Eliminator class since 2009.  Don reset the Stock Eliminator record a few times with his car but this most recent Run of 8.95@153.8will go down in NHRA History. After setting this world record, JDM Engineering was on hand at the track for Don's tear down inspection.  Engine Builder Matt Kennedy and Jim D'Amore helped disassemble the engine in the tech booth.  NHRA officials approved and certified the record run after taking measurements on the Cylinder heads, Rods, Pistons, and Cam profile.  This is truly a monumental achievement for JDM Engineering and has staked a claim as one of the Top engine builders of the Stock and Super Stock classes.

The 5.4L 4V Cobra Jet has been completely built and tuned by JDM Engineering.  Most of the custom fabrication work and all tuning is performed by Jim D'Amore.  The Short block used in Don's car, a 5.4L Aluminum big bore has paved the way for many of Team JDM's aftermarket engine programs that are available direct to the public.  Same goes for the custom grind Camshaft profiles, Engine tuning, and Fuel delivery systems.  JDM Engineerings involvement in this Cobra Jet continues to provide benefit to both the Racing and Aftermarket industries.

Don has improved the car's ET since 2012's National Record with a New Best of 8.68 @ 157.8 mph.  This was recorded at the NHRA Divisional Points Race at Englishtown, NJ Raceway Park on September 7th, 2013.
